ORIGINAL STORY:

As expected, Fortnite booted players out of Battle Royale to prepare for Season 6.

Epic Games warned player downtime would begin at 9am BST this morning, Thursday, September 27.

It Tweeted: “Patch v6.00 is dropping tomorrow, September 27! Downtime begins at 4am ET *0800 GMT)."

However, as we know Britain is currently in BST, not GMT, which makes it an hour later.

It is possible to check the status of the maintenance here.

At the present time, Parties, Friends and Messaging and Website and Forums are Operational.

Everything else for Battle Royale and Save the World is under maintenance.

Season 6 will include a whole new Battle Pass, which has now been revealed by Epic Games.

While youre waiting, why not consider purchasing a Battle Pass?

What is the Battle Pass?

Fortnite can be played for free – but you will need the Battle Pass to enjoy the game completely.

It is essentially a Fortnite Season Pass which allows you to unlock an additional 100 Challenges and Rewards.

This means you can unlock new skins and cosmetics.

The tiers can be unlocked by gaining experience points or by using V-Bucks.

V-Bucks can be bought with real money, or collected through completing challenges.

We have previously revealed ways in which you can get free V-Bucks for Battle Royale and Save the World.
