Fortnite: Shoot a Clay Pigeon at different locations

Here's how to complete the Fortnite 'Shoot a Clay Pigeon at different locations' challenge

2PM BST PSA: Fortnite Challenges are now live.

Fortnite Challenges for Season 5 Week 3 are nearly upon us and should be going live in a couple of hours.

Unlike last week there's no planned server downtime, but they are arriving slightly later than players might be used to and should go live at 2pm BST according to the Battle Royale in-game counter.

Unlike in past seasons, changes to the game since the launch of Season 5 mean these challenges aren't just relevant for Battle Pass holders, but every player, regardless if they purchased the Battle Pass.

For those who need a reminder, The Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks and you can buy a bundle of 1,000 V-Bucks for roughly £8, or earn the V-Bucks in-game through various activities.

Why should you complete these challenges? Well, they help you gain XP that can be used to level up, and Battle Stars to rank up the Battle Pass. This ultimately means more free skins, gliders, pickaxes, emotes and more throughout the season.

You need to complete four of the seven challenges to get your bonus 4000 XP. The other three won't give you an extra XP, but will help you unlock a mystery loading screen that hides a secret Battle Star in the map.

One of the harder tasks presented by Epic Games this week, worth 5 Battle Stars, reads: "Shoot a Clay Pigeon at different locations".

Those of you looking for a quick explainer are in luck. Keep reading and check out the gallery (below) to discover how to complete this new weekly challenge with minimal fuss.

Fortnite Clay Pigeon Week 3 Challenges: Map Locations Guide for shooting clay pigeons

Shoot a Clay Pigeon at different locations

This task isn't that tricky, however, if you've not played for a while or maybe if you're not as clued up to the numerous landmarks on the map, you might need a little helping hand to find all the locations available to you.

As with any weekly challenge, also consider that it might be very busy near these locations as players descend on the battle bus to complete the new challenges. In short, watch your back.

Here's the gist though, you need to activate and shoot a clay pigeon five times at different clay pigeon launchers around the map.

On the off chance you genuinely don't know what clay pigeon shooting is, it's like a real-life sport where you shoot a clay pigeon (like a clay frisbee/discus) that's launched into the air by this machine.

Back to Fortnite. Find these Clay Pigeon machines in the locations mentioned below and in the gallery above.

• North of Flush Factory by the cliff edge
• Next to the Bridge between Lazy Links and Risky Reels
• North East area of Loot Lake
• West of Pleasant Park, right next to the woodland area
• South of Paradise Palms. Right down the bottom of the map, next to the river
• North of Lonely Lodge, just before one of the hilltops

Activate them, and shoot the clay pigeon once it's fired. Simple!

And as with any week, remember you need to finish the game for the challenge to count. You can't just fire the clay pigeon and leave the game.

Some finish the game, either with a glorious Victory Royale or your demise. Hopefully, it's the former.
