Avengers Assemble at Comic-Con

In case you've been living under a rock, Marvel's Avengers are pretty hot right now. From Endgame's domination of the box-office earlier this year to this week's release of Spiderman: Far From Home, everyone is feeling the Marvel fever.

With San Diego Comic-Con coming this month, Square Enix is bringing its huge Avengers project for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to the event. It'll be featured in a Marvel Games Panel on 18th July hosted by Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, and Bill Rosemann (Vice President and Creative Director for Marvel Games) will be featured amongst other unannounced special guests.

That's not all, either. Nintendo Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will also be there, as will the recently-announced Iron Man VR game. All will be on the convention floor, too.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Grabs "Best Of E3" Gong

Of course, Square Enix is arguably best known for it's ironically titled Final Fantasy franchise of RPGs that just never seems to end. The much-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Remake featuring heavily at the start of the publisher's E3 showcase, and it was very well-received.

So well-received, in fact, that The Game Critics Awards awarded it the overall Game of Show award. It also won Best Console Game, and Best Role-Playing Game – not bad for a game that languished in development hell for years.

The Remake is the first chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 saga, and while the company may not know how many titles will be needed to tell the whole story, this will no doubt fill them with confidence in the product.

The judging panel is made up of games media outlets from around the globe, the full list of which can be found here. Spoiler alert, we're on the panel and came away very impressed by Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Sticking with Final Fantasy, Square Enix shocked plenty of us (not least my colleague Dom) by announcing a remaster of Final Fantasy 8. A game thought lost to the mists of time, it looks as though this under-appreciated entry will be making a comeback with some snazzy new features.
