The age-old rivalry between FIFA and PES is always a good watch in the 'off-season' so to speak. It's a bit like a good transfer tug of wool with each game attempting to find the upper hand on one another.

Well, for the purpose of this story, it looks like FIFA 20 might have scored a significant blow to their one and only rival.

FUTHead has noticed that the official Borussia Dortmund Twitter account has teased a new video advertising FIFA 20.

The harmless looking tweet simply reads: "From the Signal Iduna Park to the streets. Who would be in your BVB five-a-side #VOLTA squad? #FIFA20 @EASPORTSFIFA"

Looks fine. It's merely talking about the games new street mode, Volta (more on that further down).

Well, what's interesting is perhaps not what the tweet says, but rather, who it's from and the significance that holds.

Borussia Dortmund has typically been one of the main partner clubs for PES, alongside fellow teams such as Barca, Liverpool and Arsenal.

This normally involves exclusivity over things like having the stadium in the game – such as Borussia Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park – and better-looking visuals for the club in general.

Based on what's been shown so far, Barca and Arsenal are both still on board to support PES.

There's no word on Champions League winners Liverpool, but Dortmund certainly look like they're team FIFA this year.

On top of the video shared by the club, the only 'official' image we can see for the game to date – outside of the new Volta mode images – shows Borussia Dortmund and England forward Jordan Sancho (below).

Again, it does somewhat seem as though Dortmund and the yellow wall might have jumped ship.

So if you're a big BDB fan, or potentially, a Liverpool fan, it might be that EA Sports latest football sim will be your best fit when both games release later this year.
