Federal prosecutors are officially investigating the now-infamous Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, according to a new report Wednesday.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that U.S. attorneys office for the Southern District of New York will be opening an investigation to determine whether Weinstein “lured or induced any women to travel across state lines for the purpose of committing a sex crime.” (RELATED: Is Sharia Law The Answer To Preventing More Harvey Weinsteins?)

Earlier this year, the New York Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Co. for allegedly violating civil and human rights.

This is hardly the first investigation into Weinsteins misdoings. Nearly 100 women have come forward against him, with prosecutors in both New York and Los Angeles looking into various cases involving the producer. Meanwhile, the Weinstein Co. has filed for bankruptcy as Weinstein struggles to stay out of the public eye and faces isolation from nearly all of his friends and former colleagues in Hollywood.
