FALLOUT 76 BETA DATES ANNOUNCED

Here's everything Bethesda have had to say about the Fallout 76 Beta

Fallout 76 officially releases November 14th, but the first chance to experience the game can begin much earlier than that. Were excited to announce that our B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) will arrive first on Xbox One on Tuesday, October 23rd and one week later for PlayStation 4 and PC players on Tuesday, October 30th. Pre-ordering Fallout 76 is the only way to get access to the B.E.T.A.

For more information, including how to access the B.E.T.A., what to expect, where to submit feedback, and much more, please see our updated B.E.T.A. FAQ.

While players ultimately will experience unique adventures, stories, and exciting moments along their Fallout 76 journey, theyll all begin the same: within the safe confines of Vault 76 on Reclamation Day. For the very first time, were excited to share the first step players will take into beautiful, untamed Appalachia…

During the B.E.T.A period, we will provide regular updates on when the servers will be live through @Fallout on Twitter, the Bethesda.net forums and our Bethesda.net Status Page. Servers will not be live 24/7 as the team works to troubleshoot issues, stress the servers, and optimize player concurrency.

As you wait for B.E.T.A. to begin, we will be showcasing much more of the game in the next few weeks, including tips for multiplayer, wasteland survival, character builds & customization and more! Keep an eye on the Fallout website and social channels for news and updates about Fallout 76.

FALLOUT BETA FAQ

Q: I PRE-ORDERED FALLOUT 76. HOW DO I ACCESS THE B.E.T.A.?

PC players who have already created an account and pre-ordered Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net can access the B.E.T.A. once it's live via the Bethesda Launcher. If you haven't already, you can download the Bethesda Launcher for free.

Console players who pre-ordered Fallout 76 digitally on console via the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store will automatically be able to access the B.E.T.A. once it's live on their respective platforms. Please search for "Fallout 76 beta" once it's available on your console's store to download it.

If you pre-ordered Fallout 76 via participating physical or digital retailers, such as Amazon or GameStop, you will receive a code on or with your physical or digital receipt. PC players can simply redeem this code on the Bethesda Launcher to gain access to the B.E.T.A. once its available. However, if you play on console this code is not your actual B.E.T.A. code. To receive your B.E.T.A. code, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a free Bethesda.net account. If you already have an account, proceed to step two.
  2. Log into your account and redeem the code that came with your receipt to entitle your Bethesda.net account to the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A.
  3. Your B.E.T.A. code will be made available on this account page once the B.E.T.A. is live on your respective platform (October 23 for Xbox One, October 30 for PS4)
  4. Redeem your B.E.T.A. code on your console to participate

Q: HOW LONG WILL THE B.E.T.A. BE AVAILABLE?

During the B.E.T.A. one of our primary goals is to stress test and break the game. As such, the servers will not be running 24/7; instead, theyll be online during targeted timeframes so we can get as many people as possible playing at the same time. Why? Because thats the best way put all our systems to the test and see how they respond.

On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours. Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then well fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch. Well give you as much heads up as possible because we need you to log in during these times and play the game.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE B.E.T.A. EXPERIENCE?

This an exciting new journey for Fallout – and for us! The B.E.T.A. is a work-in-progress version of the game. During the B.E.T.A., you will likely see a glorious array of issues; many we know about, and many we dont.

Our goal, with your help, is to identify and fix any issues that arise in preparation for the November 14 launch. We need all your suggestions and feedback during B.E.T.A., at launch, and beyond to make Fallout 76 the best experience possible, now and for years to come!
