Many people are convinced that calcium supplements will reduce the risk of osteoporosis, but there is a chance that they can raise the risk of a stroke.

The advice of Dr Michael Lim, medical director of MWH Heart Stroke and Cancer Centre, is to stop taking calcium supplements to reduce this risk and instead obtain calcium from foods.
