PSA – FORTNITE UPDATE IS SET TO DROP at 9AM STAND BY FOR OFFICIAL v6.22 PATCH NOTES
Fortnite servers are down this morning for the impending update 6.22 release, which was confirmed as coming this morning by Epic Games on Twitter last night.
"Fall into the v6.22 update, available tomorrow! Downtime begins Tuesday, November 6 at 4 am ET."
Whilst not mentioned, this means downtime for everyone in the UK begins at 9am GMT.
Based on previous Fortnite offline maintenance periods, we can probably expect the game – both Battle Royale and Save the World – to come back online at around 10am UK time.
That being said, there's no official time frame for how long the game could be offline. And as we've seen with some updates, there can last a lot longer should the devs encounter any problems.
Thankfully, Epic Games should have some brand new patch notes to share alongside the release of the new update 6.22 patch coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

Following another in-game notification, it seems fairly likely that a new Heavy Assault Rifle weapon could launch.
The AR Weapon will be the first new weapon to be added to the game since Epic added the Quad Launcher.
And according to Fortnite Intel, it's possible that the AR could be a Legendary weapon "Judging from the colour of the background".
The Fortnite know-it-alls have also speculated that the weapon could have "a high spread and recoil" given that the description describes the weapon as "most useful when fired in short bursts".
It's also possible that a big overhaul to the mobile game could be on the cards, based on a recent development blog by the team, who told fans:
“Were continuing efforts in this area to improve perf across the board for compatible devices. Its an area that benefits from all of the feedback you provide detailing your experiences on your device."
“In the near future, were working on major performance improvements to Android 7 and some other older operating systems," continued Epic Games.
"Weve since resolved this, providing a big win for performance. Additionally, weve been working on large scale optimization efforts to reduce the amount of memory Fortnite takes up.
“This should provide a more consistent frame rate during longer play sessions. For iOS players, were changing how our “shader cache” system operates to reduce size and impact on memory.
“Longer term, were working with Phone manufacturers on Android optimizations and providing an overall smoother experience. As always, many of these updates are tied to operating systems (OS) so make sure you update drivers regularly.”
