Media Molecule is hosting a livestream later today, and we have reason to believe we'll see the announcement of a beta for the game during the show.

The developer has stated before that the Dreams beta is coming in 2018, so we feel justified in assuming this “totally normal Dreams stream” will announce the date of the beta. After all, there are only 13 days left until the end of the year… they need to announce it soon!

The live stream is due to go live at 5 pm GMT today – we'll update you when anything gets announced.

Be excited!

What is Dreams and why should you care?

Media Molecule's Dreams is due to release on the PS4 soon – after a massive development period and lots of hype.

The game promises to be somewhere between a creative toolkit for people wanting to make their own games, and a solid gaming experience in its own right.

Developed by the team behind LittleBigPlanet, the game certainly has a lot of eyes on it… it's doing something that's never really been done before.

In Dreams, players control an "imp", which is used to interact with the game's world (similarly to how you'd use a mouse cursor), and allows them to create new items and characters, and manipulate objects by grabbing and pulling them.

You can use DualShock 4 to move the imp and the cursor, and the game is fully playable in PlayStation Move too.

Players can create their own levels in the game by using custom and pre-built objects – and then they can share them online, similarly to how sharing content worked in LittleBigPlanet.

There will be a full suite of single-player content in the game as well as the user-created levels, too.
