After a disastrous reveal of a new mobile game – Diablo Immortal – at Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard has reiterated that there are more Diablo titles in development.

At the company's annual BlizzCon show in Anaheim, California, Blizzard told the shocked crowd the new game in the popular series would be available for just iOS and Android.

The reaction to the news was less than impressive, with fans of the series all around the world noting their disapproval on social media.

Blizzard has announced that there are more Diablo products in the pipeline, though, in an attempt to offset the backlash.

After the initial announcement of Diablo Immortal, another panel at BlizzCon confirmed there are more games in the series in development.

Blizzard Co-Founder and Executive Producer Allen Adham spoke to Polygon, too, noting that other products are in the works: "We have said that we have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple Diablo projects and that remains true, even after releasing [Diablo 3 for Nintendo] Switch and announcing Diablo Immortal.”

He followed up that information with: “We still have multiple Diablo teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects.” And also noted “Diablo is a tentpole franchise for [Blizzard]. And it always will be. We love it. We hope our fans understand what were saying when we say that.”

So when can we expect to hear more about the game?

Probably not soon – it could take until E3 next year (so June 2019) or even later (potentially Blizzcon next year, in November).

Until then, we'll have to make do with the newly released Diablo III: Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch, or possibly the newly announced Diablo Netflix series due to hit the streaming platform soon.
