Diablo 4 Reign of Terror LEAKED via BlizzCon 2018 exclusive merchandise (Pic: BLIZZARD)
Blizzard has updated its merch page with a slew of new items that seem to confirm a new Diablo project is in the works.
Over on the Blizzard Gear page, we can see new merch that refers to Diablo: Reign of Terror – an as yet unannounced expansion or new project related to the game. There's a new poster, and new shirts featuring the branding.
You can see all the new merch here.
We're expecting Blizzard to formally unveil something relating to the series in the upcoming weeks over at BlizzCon 2018, and this seems to be laying the foundations for that. So, will Diablo 4 be called Reign of Terror? It seems likely!
We already know that at BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard will be hosting a panel dedicated to the future of Diablo – and it'll be taking place immediately after the opening showcase for the big event.
The panel – called Diablo: What's Next – will take place on November 2, and promises to tell players about where the Diablo universe is going next.
The day after, there will be a panel examining more of the overall Diablo world, and Blizzard's history with the series.
If none of these events reveal or dive into what Diablo 4 could be… we'll eat our collective hat.
In a Twitter post back on August 8, 2018, Blizzard wrote: "Stay awhile and listen – we have exciting updates to share about the future of Diablo."
In a video posted with the tweet, community manager Brandy Camel shares an exciting update which is positive for Diablo fans.
“Wed also like to let you know, that the forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works.
“Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year.
“We hope you stay tuned while we work to bring these new Diablo experiences to life.”
Despite it being a vague update, it is encouraging to know things are in the works.
So we know there's something in the work – it's just a matter of when we're going to hear about it.
