Theres some good news from camp Demi Lovato – the singer has decided to focus entirely on herself and her recovery following her overdose, and will now spend months making sure she fully recovers.

The 25-year-old has cancelled all upcoming tour dates to clear the way for a serious focus on her recovery, reportedly planning months in rehab to make sure she truly heals.

A friend of the 25-year-old told E! News: Demi will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs.

They added that she hasnt been in communication with anyone and is really focusing on herself, which is really good to hear.

The source added that her ex Wilmer is keeping tabs on her too: Wilmer has been in touch with the family and has been checking in on Demis status.

Demi was forced to scrap rest of tour in Mexico and south America, ditching dates on 20 and 22 September in Mexico to focus on her health. Her November dates in Chile, Argentina and Brazil were also cancelled in wake of her decision to enter rehab.

Live Nation and Lotus Productions offered their support and wish Demi Lovato the best now and in the future and we hope to see her soon in South America.

Demi was found unresponsive at her home following a suspected overdose on 24 July, with the star needing life-saving treatment from emergency services to revive her.

Earlier this month, as the star felt stronger, she wrote a letter to her fans, apologising for her actions, and thanking them for their support.

I want to thank God for keeping me alive, she wrote. And I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery.

She ended the letter: I will keep fighting.
