Saturday Night Takeaway will continue with Dec presenting the show alone, after co-host Ant McPartlin's arrest for suspected drink-driving.

In a post shared on Ant and Dec's Twitter page, Declan Donnelly announced he would present the two remaining shows of the series.

"Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead," he wrote.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that."

ITV also confirmed the show would go on, on 31 March, with the series finale taking place at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida a week later.

According to reports, Ant was seen arriving at Kingston police station earlier on Wednesday – the first time he has left his house since the arrest.

The 42-year-old was involved in a collision with two other cars while driving his black Mini in Richmond just before 4pm on Sunday.

A child passenger in one of the cars – a green Mini – was taken to hospital as a precaution. She is believed to be a three-year-old girl.

Others involved were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A statement shared by his publicist said McPartlin would "go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments".
