Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare's Captain Price

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – who would argue with facial hair like that?

Sonys State of Play event has seen the debut of the Modern Warfare reboots main story trailer and it does not look a happy tale…

Considering its out next month the reboot of Modern Warfare has been the most secretive Call Of Duty ever, but it does look like its going to be a very pleasant surprise when you finally get to play it.

Well, maybe pleasant isnt the right word. The story trailer below, which debut during the latest State of Play, looks extremely grim n gritty, which is exactly what developer Infinity Ward has been promising all this time.

The plot details are still a little vague, but it appears to involve a recast Captain Price, and some American friends, trying to keep chemical weapons out of the hands of terrorists from a Middle Eastern country that is itself being invaded.

Its all very ripped-from-the-headlines style stuff but while Call Of Duty is known for purposefully courting controversy, so far the story seems to be impressively mature and not the usual gung-ho fantasy nonsense.

The acting and script seem good and the graphics are extremely impressive, and well up there with any other big-name game this year or next.

Call Of Duty has had a marketing deal with PlayStation all generation and the trailers final reveal is that the Special Ops Survival Mode will be first to play on PlayStation 4, which usually means a timed exclusive of around a month.

Special Ops is the games co-op mode, a replacement for Zombies, which was deemed too unrealistic for Modern Warfares more serious tone.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on 25 October
