The worst kept secret of the year has finally been confirmed, as Gearbox also unveil HD upgrades for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

Borderlands: Game Of The Year Edition - the original returnsBorderlands: Game Of The Year Edition coming next month for consoles and PC

It was obvious it was coming but Borderlands 3 is now officially a real game, and not just a fan dream, after developer Gearbox announced it via an agreeably lengthy reveal trailer.

The game has been in development for five years and according to Gearbox features 1 billion guns, guns with legs, multiple worlds, and lots of familiar faces (it also suggests that the earlier leaks were legit).

Almost nothing else was said about the game, other than what you can discern from the trailer, with more information – including, hopefully, a release date – promised for next month.

Also announced at Gearboxs event at PAX East was Borderlands: Game Of The Year Edition, a remaster of the first game in the series for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

On top of that was the annoucement that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – which includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel – will be getting a free Ultra HD Texture Pack and that all the DLC for Borderlands 2 will shortly be added to Borderlands 2 VR.
