Theres been something of a renaissance for old school computer role-playing games in recent years, and yet still theres still never been an official sequel to 2000 classic Baldurs Gate. But it looks like thats about to change.

The homepage for Belgium developer Larian Studios is currently just the Roman numerals for three, which initially you might assume to be a reference to a potential Original Sin III.

But datamining the site has found numerous references to Wizards of the Coast, the company that owns the rights to Dungeons & Dragons and ultimately Baldurs Gate.

As soon as that cat was out of the bag various industry figures, including Kotakus Jason Schreier, claimed that they had insider information that it really is Baldurs Gate III.

And then finally someone found the smoking gun, with a direct reference to Baldurs Gate III found in the websites HTML code.

So there you go. Given the proximity to E3 an annoucement next month seems all but guaranteed, although the question of wholl be publishing and if itll also be on consoles remains to be seen.
