“Avengers: Infinity War” made a stunning amount of money at the box office during its opening weekend.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop:

Disney and Marvels Avengers: Infinity War kicked off the summer box office in high style over the weekend, opening to a record-setting $250 million in North America and $380 million overseas for a global total of $630 million, the top worldwide debut of all time. The superhero mashup accomplished the feat without China, where it doesnt unfurl until May 11.

Making $630 million in a weekend, and having the biggest worldwide debut certainly isnt a bad way to open a movie.

That is honestly so much money that its hard for me to even picture. Making $630 million total for any movie would be considered incredible. Making that amount of money in a single weekend is unheard of.

I havent had the opportunity to see the movie yet, but Ive only heard great things. Its certainly on my list of things to get done in the coming days. The fact it crushed so well makes me think that its going to live up to expectations.

Heres what I do know for sure. Disney and Marvel are very happy, and a lot of people are going to have a little more cash in their bank accounts. This also guarantees that were going to keep getting more and more of these films. Hollywood isnt going to stop making these as long as they keep raking in money.
