Ubisoft have confirmed there wont be an Assassins Creed game released in 2019.
The company made the announcement at Gamescom, stating they will instead provide additional content for upcoming entry Assassins Creed Odyssey over a new title.
Speaking at the show (via Gamespot), Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said: On Assassins, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassins next year.
Its just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year youre not going to have a fully fledged one.
While this sounds like a smaller spin-off title could be in the works, Guillemot shut down these hopes and said to expect lots of content for Odyssey instead.

Ubisoft previously put the franchise on standby before the release of Assassins Creed: Origins in 2017, which saw more noticeable RPG gameplay mechanics added into the formula.
Its certainly a much healthier release approach to avoid franchise fatigue, but well have to see whether it can deliver a significant, and worthwhile, update to the series.
Assassins Creed Odyssey will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 5 October.
