Assassin's Creed Switch release LEAK? 'Compilation' game coming to Switch, Xbox One, PS4? (Pic: DS)

A German retailer has posted a listing for a new Assassin's Creed project – which may be heading to Nintendo Switch.

German retailer MediaMarkt seems to have accidentally listed Assassins Creed Compilation for Switch, Xbox One and PS4 ahead of what is assumedly an upcoming formal reveal.

The page notes the game will come with a possible March 29 release date, though Ubisoft has not announced or revealed anything about the project so far.

MediaMarkt isn't as reliable for leaks as other retailers such as Amazon listing leaks or Wal-Mart Canada leaks, so the authenticity of this leak currently remains up for debate.

We are waiting for a ten game announcements at this year's The Game Awards show, though, so it's likely that we may see this compilation announced as part of The Game Awards showcase on December 6th (and 7th UK time).

The games that will form part of this compilation are yet to be revealed, but it would perhaps make sense for it to collect the first few Assassin's Creed games – the initial trilogy, maybe, or maybe even up to Black Flag.

Take this rumour with a pinch of salt for now – until Ubisoft confirms anything, this is all just a rumour. But coming from a retailer like this, there's a good chance there's some truth to the information.

This week, we're going to see the fourth annual Game Awards ceremony – and we're promised some big updates.

In a tweet published earlier last week, Geoff Keighley (presenter and driving force behind the massive show) announced there would be no less than TEN new game announcements at The Game Awards 2018.

But what could they be? We already know that Keighley and company will be showing the newest member of the Microsoft Studios family – Obsidian Entertainment's – brand new RPG. We also know that Avengers: Infinity War directors, the Russo Brothers, will be hosting on-stage – expect more news on the Avengers Project and possibly an Avengers 4 trailer.

But what else? We have at least eight game announcements to look forward to… and they could be anything from console exclusives to remasters to new compilations.

We'll update you with everything you need to know as it happens on this Thursday night and very early Friday morning.
