Apex Legends had a great start when it launched in February 2019.

Respawn Entertainments battle royale game reached more than 50 million players in the first month. Which even for something that was free-to-play, was still wildly impressive.

But after the first season launched in March, interest has waned, struggling to compete with massively popular Fortnite.

Apex Legends Season 2 is going to incorporate daily and weekly challenges, and hopes to win back some fans.

A new trailer released last week (seen below) started the hype train and showcased some of the games big map changes coming to the game.

This is when the first Battle Pass ended.

Apex Legends Season 2 officially starts on Tuesday, July 2.

Respawn officially confirmed the news at E3 2019 during the EA Play.

The update which will bring the new season to fans is expected to launch at 6pm BST (1pm EST).

What's new in Apex Legends Season 2?

Two trailers have dropped for Apex Legends Season 2, showing what fans can expect.

The trailers seem to confirm the leviathans that have been moving closer to Kings Canyon will invade the area.

This will no doubt bring carnage to the map.

We can see destroyed buildings, bridges, flooded locations and a few areas which are overgrown with grass and weed.

Fans will also be introduced to Wattson, a new legends who utilises electricity and fences as her main ability.

She can use electricity to damage and slow enemies.
