Ant and Dec have donated £5,000 to a rehab fund for a warm-up man who worked on The X Factor and Britains Got Talent.

What a pair of gents.

Ian Royce regularly works on the ITV shows, where he gets the audiences warmed up for the recordings and live shows.

The 50-year-old is battling alcoholism, and a close friend set up a GoFundMe page hoping to raise £20,000 to get Ian, or Roycey, treatment in The Priory.

And Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have both donated £2,500 to the fund in a kind gesture – although the two donations have been done anonymously.

Roycey himself confirmed the Geordies had donated to the fund, tweeting: Thank you Ant for your generous donation for getting me well..Amazing @antanddec xxx.

Thank you Dec as well for your donation..Love you @antanddec.

Ant, 43, no longer drinks after becoming dependent on alcohol after his split from Lisa Armstrong. This led to him being found guilty of drink driving after crashing into another car while more than twice the legal limit in March 2018.

He told The Sun: Life hit me hard. I was going through a lot of personal stuff that was very publicised. The problem is you take something or you drink to escape from an underlying unhappiness.

This comes after both Simon Cowell and Robbie Williams said they would be donating to Royceys fund.

According to the Mirror, former X Factor judge Robbie said: Im happy to pay for your rehab, consider it done.

Meanwhile, Olly Murs – a former X Factor competitor and host – donated £2,000 to the fund, writing: Roycey! Stay strong my friend! Ill be seeing you soon! X.

James Mace set up the fundraiser, explaining: Our good friend Ian Royce (Roycey) is in desperate need of our help. Ian is an alcoholic and has taken his first steps by admitting so.

Ian is currently being treated for a brain injury that he received whilst under the influence. He has advised that he is at his all time lowest and has even tried to take his own life. He needs our help! The priory is willing to treat Ian on a 28 day program for around £20,000. Additionally to this, treatment for his brain injury still needs to continue and be funded.

Roycey has been there for so many people over the years and now its time we repay him by getting him the help he needs by funding his rehabilitation. My mental health support group Walk&talk4men will do all we can to help repay Ian for his support but we need your help too.
