Are you one of the 6.8 million?

The latest sales figures for the PS4 show that 30 million consoles have been sold in the U.S. and almost 7 million in the UK.

The PlayStation 4 recently became the fastest console ever to reach 100 million sales, but now we now exactly how that breaks down according to individual countries.

Noted industry analyst Daniel Ahmad has revealed that of that 100 million, the U.S. accounts for 30 million sales, making it the biggest individual market.

Japan is next on 8.3 million, followed by Germany on 7.2 million, and the UK on 6.8 million. Since the UKs population is around 67.5 million that means theres approximately one PlayStation 4 for every 10 people in the UK.

PlayStation 4 sell through in the US has now surpassed 30 million, with the market accounting for approximately 30% of total PS4 sales.

Other top markets include:

Japan: 8.3m
Germany: 7.2m
UK: 6.8m

The U.S. figure also works out at roughly one in 10 and its actually Japan thats less than that, given it has a population of around 126.3 million.

But then in Japan, PlayStation 4 sales have already been overtaken by the Switch, despite Sonys console having a three-year head start.

Total global sales for the Switch stand at around 37 million though, so theres no chance its going to catch up overall.
