Apex Legends Season 2 is now just a few hours away and fans are no doubt gearing up for the long-awaited release Respawn Entertainment's second season for the popular team-based Battle Royale shooter.
Season 2, which has been code named 'Battle Charge' kicks off in just a few hours, with the new update and patch notes going live at (roughly) 6pm BST this evening.
Most fans will be well aware of the new content coming to the game, including a new Legend (Wattson), new weapons, and a ranked mode.
But one factor which has been otherwise glazed over by the development team, beyond what was shown in trailers, is the map.
By all accounts, it looks as though the Kings Canyon map is also getting a bit of a refresh.
Reddit user u/zancray has analysed the Season Two promotional trailers to identify plenty of changes around the middle of the map. You can see the image below.
It looks like Cascades and Bridges are due to smashed, while the green areas represent new buildings or other drastic changes.

Also on the r/Apex Legends subreddit, u/W-rital has taken some screenshots to show the differences between certain areas of the map between both Season One and Season Two, and we think you'll agree it's impressive work.
The post shows that the area between Market and Repulsor, Repulsor, Bridges, Runoff, Cascades, Wasteland and Upper Bridges are all getting some fresh looks.
From the visuals shown, it looks like some areas will be changed more than others – Upper Bridges, for example, gets a whole new structure.
As one commenter u/momo88852 notes, players using Pathfinder will be able to grapple to these new areas with his grapple gun to open up new avenues of attack.

These are likely not the only changes coming to King's Canyon, but it's what we know about so far.
We'll be sure to update the page later with more changes, but for the time being it gives as good an indication of the planned overhaul Respawn has gone through to update the map for a new season.
