Rockstar Games fans might have thought that with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead 2 Online now finally available after months and years of teasing that the fanfare around GTA 5 might have started to wane.

But, thankfully, Rockstar are not giving up on their most successful game to date.

Earlier today the game dropped a brand new piece of DLC for GTA 5 Online, in the form of Arena War. You'll find more details about the mode just below courtesy of Rockstar:

"Enter Arena War, where ruthless gladiatorial combat meets the bleeding-edge of vehicular modification technology in one spectacular – and highly combustible – competition.

"Sign up and embark on an entirely new career under the stratospheric dome of the Maze Bank Arena, one that involves turning your opponents brains into pulp on the steering wheel in the name of entertainment, courtesy of Alan Jerome Productions.

"Compete in all new vehicle types custom built for the Arena across seven explosive new modes.

"As your Arena War career progresses, youll earn Arena Points and use them to rank up and unlock even more toys to take into the Arena or out onto the streets."

So basically, a vehicular take on Max Max Thunderdome. Got it? Yep, awesome, keep reading for some more details revealed this morning…

The update was first revealed by Rockstar Games late last night but is now live on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Die-hard fans of the game have already started to deep dive into all the nitty-gritty details of the game update and revealed plenty of info beyond what Rockstar Games brief description tells us.

For starters, if you wanted to buy EVERYTHING that's new in Arena War, it will set you back precisely $256,818,504.

If you're trying to work out why it'll cost so much, it's because this is no small update.

In fact, the new Arena War DLC adds 23 new vehicles, including custom versions of existing vehicles.

Equally, according to @TezFunz2 (an excellent source of GTA info on Twitter if you ever wanted to follow someone) You'll need the "Arena Workshop" if you want to upgrade existing vehicles in your garage or new vehicles into Arena-ready styles.

"You can also hire a guest mechanic from Benny's for lowrider customization, and a weapons expert to turn them into weaponized vehicles," TezFunz2 also added.
