Fortnite 6.02 UPDATE: New Patch Notes, Server Downtime, Skull Trooper and Epic Skins News (Pic: EPIC GAMES)
The next Fortnite update might not have arrived at the usual Tuesday time, but Epic Games has overnight told fans that new content will be added to the game today, Wednesday 10 October, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.
As per the usual, this announcement was revealed on Epic Games Fortnite Twitter account.
The Twitter account confirmed this would be Fortnite update 6.02 for Battle Royale and Save the World. And like most Fortnite updates, it will require some downtime.
The games announcement warned that servers will be going offline at around 8am GMT, which is actually 9am BST currently in the UK.
The scheduled maintenance is expected to last a couple of hours, but once the game has gone offline, new Patch Notes should be revealed.
And we already have a pretty good idea about what this new content could contain. Here's a quick look:
It also looks like Epic Games is also getting ready to release a new set of skins in time for Halloween.
The leaked skins include the Scourge, Plague, Hollowhead and Skull Ranger.
It's possible we might see more revealed for the Skull Trooper skin, not least after the Epic Games Fortnite Twitter Account teased fans by posting a skull emoji and a pickaxe.
You can see the full list of leaked skins below… expect to hear more about these formally soon.

Fortnite 6.01: The new Quad Launcher could arrive with the new update today! (Pic: EPIC GAMES)
Fortnite's latest in-game message revealed a big new weapon coming to the game very soon – The Quad Launcher.
This devastating looking rocket launcher was leaked some weeks back after data-miners discovered the weapon in the games Battle Royale files, but it's only just making its appearance known in the game.
Here's the weapon description.
“Quickly fire up to 4 rockets to blanket an area with explosive damage.”
We would imagine that the weapon will be made available in the games new 6.2 update, especially since it has appeared as a new in-game menu message.
The quad launcher is already part of the games Save the World mode but Battle Royale has yet to experience the thrill of the weapon in PVP combat.
The only question is whether this new weapon will be simply rolled out to the wider game or part of a special LTM.
As mentioned by the @FNBRLeaks Twitter account, this could indicate a return for the High explosives LTM.
One fix we could see is a problem with an unrendered Starter Island appearing in the loading screen.
In an update on Trello, the developer has noted: "While loading in, players may notice an unrendered version of the Starter Island appear for a short time, then be replaced with the loading screen again until the map fully renders."
Epic assures us that'll be fixed.
We'll also see the floating island removed from wrong locations in the mini-map, we'll see audio issues for rotating structures on the mini-map updated, and we'll see a new weapon or item included in the update, too.
We're also liable to see the map get more spooky Halloween decorations added to the map – which you can read all about at the link.
