The Settlers games has been going strong for 25 years, and its reign as one of the most enduring RTS series is set to continue.
Ubisoft today made not one but two announcements, revealing that it will release not one but two Settlers titles in the coming year.
Making a splash on day one of Gamescom 2018 the company announced a brand new instalment in the series, titled The Settlers, is on its way.
Giving little away about the game, they simply released a cinematic trailer which teased various elements of the game, though they did confirm that it will drop sometime in autumn 2019.
Keeping things nice and ambiguous for the meantime, the blurb for the game reads: Forced to leave their homelands after a devastating earthquake of mysterious origins, the Settlers set sail towards the unknown in the hopes of finding a new home.
Not only will they face countless new challenges, they will also become part of an ancient mystery that will change their lives forever.
Mystery? More like downright MYSTERIOUS!
If youre already crying out for some RTS action then have no fear as all seven games to date in the series are getting a re-release on PC.
Throwing themselves into the rerelease market, Ubisoft also announced that they would be putting out The Settlers History Collection (celebrating 25 years of the games).
As it say in the title the release comprise of the last seven titles in the series and will go on sale 15 November 2018.
If youre not able to attend Gamescom (or tune into the livestreams) from the event then have no fear as GameCentral is on the ground in Germany, so expect a thorough and in-depth look at what comes out of the next five days to start soon.
