No Mans Sky is getting a huge update next week that will completely alter the way the game works and introduce new elements for players to explore.
When it was first released in 2016 it was praised for its stunning visuals and technological achievements but it was also criticised for lacking interesting gameplay or challenges, with not enough interesting things to do.
Hello Games has said that the new update has been play-tested over the last 6 months and it will see the experience of the game change quite a bit.
It looks set to address many of the problems that players faced, particularly with the introduction of a more solid multiplayer feature that could give players they chance to explore and survive alongside their friends.
What is No Mans Sky NEXT?
The big new change with the latest No Mans Sky update is that it will now have a full multiplayer mode that will let players explore the worlds with their friends and come face-to-face with other players along the way.
Gamers will be able to build shelters and colonies together and fight against rivals in order to survive, it also gives players the opportunity to get involved in space battles together, clashing in the sky with their own personal spaceships.
In a blog post, Sean of Hello Games said its an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community. It will be our biggest update so far, and something weve been working ridiculously hard on.
Other big additions to the game includes improved visuals such as more detailed terrains and textures, as well as the option to now play in first or third person.
Players are also now able to build their bases anywhere on a planet and can create bigger and more complex structures with access to more building components.
Freighters are also getting improved in the update with players now able to build and upgrade frigates which you can then send out into the universe and command from your freighter.
Hello Games has also said that it plans to continue supporting No Mans Sky in the future, which suggests that fans of the game can expect to see more updates and improvements in the future.
