The mobile Fortnite officially launches today with many players rushing to sign-up with hopes of getting invite to download the app.
A portable version of Fortnite offers new possibilities and an even broader audience for the game.
Epic Games also revealed that it will soon support cross-platform play between all devices, making it easier for friends to play together.
So should we expect the mobile Fortnite to have the same gameplay and visual quality as the console versions of the game?
Will Fortnite mobile be the same as other versions?
Epic Games has confirmed that the mobile Fortnite will be exactly the same as the console and PC versions of the game.
It will feature the same graphics and gameplay and it will also receive the same weekly updates.
In the post announcing the new mobile game the Fortnite team said ‘We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.’
However, the game is currently only available on devices with iOS11, you will need to have at least an iPhone 6S/SE, or alternatively an iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad 2017 devices.
How to get Fortnite on your mobile
From Monday 12th March (today) players can sign-up at www.Fortnite.com to have a chance of getting the iOS Invite for the launch of the mobile version of the game.
Shortly after the mobile sign-up has opened Epic Games will start sending out invites with a link to download the game from Apple’s App Store.
Not everyone will be getting invited to play straight away as the Fortnite team plans to gradually invite more players over the next few months.
Once you have you have access to the game you will also receive invite codes that will let you give friends the opportunity to play with you as well.
