Hollywood legend Barbra Streisand has revealed she cloned her dogs.
In a candid chat with Variety, the 75-year-old said she had cells taken from the mouth and stomach of her 14-year-old dog, Samantha, who died last year.
Not for safe keeping, but to clone her into another dog. Well, another two dogs, to be precise.
We know it’s hard to let go of our beloved family pets, but this has taken it to a whole new level.
Now she has two Coton du Tulear pups named Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett that share her house with her husband of 20 years James Brolin (as well as a third Coton du Tulear named Miss Fanny…not a clone).
‘They have different personalities,’ the entertainer said. ‘I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her brown eyes and seriousness.’
Miss Fanny came along while Streisand was waiting for the clones, after her breeder brought another dog and Barbra was ‘smitten’ and knew she had to have her as well.
