Sarah Silverman And Michael Sheen have 'uncoupled' as they announce split

Sarah Silverman took to Twitter on Monday with the sad news that she and Michael Sheen have ‘uncoupled’, although they did it in suitably funny fashion.

After four years of dating, the pair have called it off due to not living in the same countries.

During the course of their relationship, they have often referred the long distance nature of it, commenting on how they are ‘oceans’ apart.

But it turns out it’s been secretly taking its toll.

The 47-year-old comedian wrote in a tweet to her 12.5million followers: ‘The great @michaelsheen & I consciously uncoupled over Christmas. I mean, not “over Christmas” – like that wasn’t the fight that ended it. No fight. We just live in different countries & it got hard.’

She continued: ‘Felt we should just tell y’all so u stop askin, “How’s Michael/How’s Sarah?”‘

Sheen, who is based in the UK, has not yet commented on his split with Sarah, who lives in Los Angeles.

Yhe couple have declared their love for each other on a number of occasions since getting together in 2014.

On Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, Silverman said: ‘I’m so happy to have him be a part of my life and to get to be a part of his life, I don’t think I ever really knew what love was.’

Sheen also previously spoke fondly of their relationship at a special awards consideration screening of Masters of Sex.

He said: ‘It’s fantastic to have her as a partner.’
